As a website designer, I often encounter clients who feel overwhelmed by the prospect of launching their online presence. The good news? You can get a professional website in a day. This approach not only saves time but also delivers numerous benefits that can propel your business forward. In this post, I’ll share insights on why this can be a game-changer for your creative business.
How A Website In A Day Works Wonders For Your Business
Rapid Entry Into The Market
In today’s fast-paced digital environment, speed matters. Whether you’re launching a new product or promoting an event, having a website ready in one day allows you to go after opportunities quickly.
This rapid market entry can set you apart from competitors who take longer to establish an digital presence. So much of business ownership is about how quickly you can bring your ideas to life. The more that you delay, not only are you missing opportunities in your own business, but your potential clients may be forming trust and a bond with a competitor’s brand.
It’s A Cost-Effective Solution
Many clients worry about the costs associated with web design – and I totally get this because my Visionary Custom Website Designs currently start at $8500 (and this number will only go up over time).
Completing a website in one day reduces the overall expenditure significantly. With streamlined processes and focused planning, you can get a functional, attractive website without breaking the bank.
You Promote Your Core Offerings
When time is limited, you naturally concentrate only on what’s essential. A website in a day helps you prioritize the most important features and content. This focus can lead to a more effective site that meets your immediate needs without unnecessary distractions. The goal here is to get up and running quickly – so that you can start making sales in your business, and eventually expand on what is needed at a later time.
Preparing to Launch Your Website in a Day
There are some key preparations that I guide my clients through to ensure a smooth website in a day process. Please note that every designer’s process is going to be a little different… but this is how I do it!
Clarify Your Website Goals
What is the primary purpose of your website? Are you looking to attract clients, showcase your portfolio, or book clients for your services? Having a clear goal will guide the design process and ensure that the finished product aligns with your vision.
It also helps for the client to note a few websites that they admire and expain the components that they are drawn to. This helps to provide visual inspiration that will guide the website aesthetics.
Provide Your Brand Design Elements & Style Guide
I will need access to your logo design, color palette, font system, iconography, patterns, and any style guide requirements. This will ensure that I can fully understand your brand aesthetics and will be able to implement them effectively on your website design.
Prepare Your Copywriting
Whether you work with a copywriter or create your website text yourself, all of the words that you want on your website will need to be provided.
I, personally, am not a copywriter, but I am always happy to make a referral, should you need one. Just reach out to me and I’ll help point you in the right direction.
Submit Your SEO Keywords
If you wanted someone to find your business on Google, what keywords would they type into the search bar? Submitting these keywords to me in advance will allow me to strategically plan for integration of these keywords into your site (in your meta title, meta description, headers, alt text, image file names, etc.).
Choose a Domain Name
Your domain name is your online identity (it’s the .com or .io that you type into a browser window). Opt for something simple, memorable, and/or your brand name. This name will be the first impression many visitors have of your business, so choose wisely. The domain name purchase should take place outside of the website in a day agreement, so that the client’s contact details and billing information can be kept current.
Set Up Your Hosting
You’ll need a Showit account (affiliate link to try out Showit for one month FREE) for us to complete our website in a day. Depending on your site requirements (if you will have a blog, etc.), I can help guide you on which plan is best for you. The hosting plan purchase should take place outside of the website in a day agreement, so that the client’s contact details and billing information can be kept current.
Designing Your Website In A Day
Now, let’s break down the steps that I take to design a website in a day:
Step 1: Morning Kickoff Meeting
I will have reviewed the materials that you have submitted during your onboarding process. We will have a quick 40-minute meeting to clarify anything that is needed before diving into the design day.
Step 2: Creation Of The Website Pages
Starting with the home page, I will work diligently to get your dream site in the works! The home page often takes the longest because it sets the tone and style cues for the rest of the website design. As soon as the page is ready for client review, I create a quick Loom video showing them the page and asking them for feedback.
I continue working to get the other pages set up as the client gathers their feedback. Every Stellar Website Sprint includes:
- Home Page: This is your virtual storefront—make it inviting and informative.
- About Page: Share your story and what sets you apart from competitors.
- Services Page: Clearly outline what you offer, complete with visuals.
- Portfolio Page: Show off your best work and results you can get for clients.
- Contact Page: Ensure visitors can easily reach you.
Step 3: Check Pages On Mobile
Over half of internet use is via mobile device. This is why it’s absolutely critical to optimize your website design for these website visitors. All of the page elements should scale down flawlessly, so that elements do not get cut off or left behind.
Step 4: Integrate Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
I take the pre-prepped SEO work and integrate it into the site. I add meta titles, meta descriptions, ensure the headers have proper tags attached to them, give your images alt text, etc.
This is a crucial step in providing search engines with context on what your site is about, so that it can be indexed properly within search.
Step 5: Functionality Checks
This is where I confirm all of the links are working properly, the mobile menu is expanding as expected, the contact form is sending properly, and more.
Step 6: Launch with Confidence
Once your design is finalized, it’s time to go live and get ready to pop the champagne! You’ll be buzzing with excitement to show off your new site on social media and through email marketing.
Once the domain is connected, I’ll be providing you with written documentation, so that you feel confident making any changes that you might need post-launch.
