I don’t know about you – but I LOVE an interactive personality quiz! Not only are quizzes fun, but they can also be amazing for lead generation! Interact (affiliate link) made it so easy to set one up – and custom-tailor it to my business. When people take the quiz, they are automatically added to my email list and segmented – so that I can send them customized messages based on their results!

Setting Up Your Interactive Personality Quiz

Curious about how to get a quiz like this set up for your business? Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to get started:

1. Create an Interact account here (affiliate link)
2. Once logged in to your account – you can create a new quiz.
3. When prompted to select the type of quiz, click Start From Scratch, and then Personality Quiz.
4. On the left side of the page, you can see the customizable components for your quiz.
5. Add a cover slide – you can add the quiz title, add an image, and and customize the button color to fit your branding.
6. Add your Results by determining the personality outcomes that your audience may receive once they complete the quiz. Pro tip: It’s helpful to tackle this step BEFORE adding your questions so that you have an idea of what questions to ask.
7. Add your quiz questions and answers. I like to add a combination of image answers and text answers throughout my quiz to bring in some visual variety. When crafting these answer – be mindful that each option must contribute to one of the results.
8. Once your answers to each question have been entered, tap the Edit Result Correlations button for each question. This will allow you to link each answer to a result. For example – Answer A contributes to Result A, etc. You can link answers to multiple results, if it makes sense for the quiz that you’re building.

Connecting Your Email Platform To Your Interactive Personality Quiz

Now that your interactive personality quiz has been created, it’s time to connect your email platform. This will allow you to automatically add any quiz submissions and segment them without the use of a third-party automation app. Here’s the step-by-step process:

1. In the left-side menu of your Interact Quiz (affiliate link), toggle on the Lead Generation section.
2. Follow the prompts to select which data you would like to collect in your opt-in form. At the bottom of the page, click the “Save & Continue” button to proceed to the next step.
3. On the Integration tab, follow the prompts to connect your email marketing platform. I use Flodesk (affiliate link) and this only took a few clicks to get my accounts linked.
4. On the Results tab, you can set up triggers to send specific data from your quiz to your email marketing platform. For example, you can set up a trigger that when a quiz taker gets Result A, it sends that person’s data tagged with a specific email segment. Repeat this step as many times as needed to create triggers for each result listed.
5. Once all of your answers are connected to your email marketing platform, you will want to test the integration to ensure that all of the data is getting moved over properly.

Publishing & Sharing Your Interactive Personality Quiz

Once you have tested your quiz to make sure that it’s working as desired, it’s time to publish it! You can do so by tapping the large blue PUBLISH button at the top right of your quiz editing window.

When your quiz has been published, Interact will generate a link for your quiz, which can be shared on your social media, embedded on your website, or even integrated into a Facebook ad.
