Example: These are some branded marketing materials that I designed for my client, House of Modern Realty, a real estate brokerage based in Atlanta, Georgia. Example: Let’s say that you have a coaching business, and one question that keeps coming up in your group program is how to effectively leverage artificial intelligence from a strategic perspective. You could:

  • Curate a list of your favorite AI tools, explain how you are using them in your daily workflow, provide affiliate discounts to the tools, and create helpful prompts that will help your clients get started on the right foot.
  • Not an AI expert yourself? No problem! You could bring in an AI expert to share their insights with the group.
  • Create a mini mastermind of people that are interested in this topic, so that they can share resources, tips, etc.
  • Based on feedback that you have received from your clients, you could build your own AI solution to a consistent problem that they might be experiencing.

Helping your clients in a variety of ways will help to position your brand to be in its own category – because no other business out there is providing this high caliber of tailored support.

2. Prioritize Key Opportunities for Brand Innovation

Start by conducting some market research to discover what your ideal clients want and what others in your industry are doing. Create a list with two columns. In the first, write down all of the common traits and strategies that competitors are embodying. In the second column, brainstorm how you might be able to do the complete opposite of each item on your list. You’ll want to pick one or more of these differentiators to include in your unique selling proposition. THIS is your secret sauce that will set you apart from everyone else.

Everyone else is using a neutral color palette? Go bold and colorful with your branding.

Everyone else is careful about sharing their opinions? Make it clear what you stand for and why.

Everyone else is taking the same, boring approach? Explain how you’re infusing FUN back into a process that would otherwise be a snoozefest.

3. Build Tangible Concepts

Now that you’ve zeroed in on what makes your brand different, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and create! You’re going to be integrating this into every component of your business – from your branding to your messaging to your services and beyond.
